Rick’s Radio Show #111
For show #111 I have an amazing old cut from Frank Jenkins that dates back to 1917. The track is a bit rough as it comes from a very old recording but it allows us a look at old blues as it was presented almost 100 years ago. After some Lightnin Hopkins tracks I jump to the 1930’s Rockabilly with Hoyt Stevenson showing how the blues moved right along onto the streets paved in rock and blues. There is plenty of old acoustic blues. Yep, this is a history of blues music as it started way back in the day. But for those who need a touch closer to today’s reality, do not worry. I am going there. I have Fats Domino, Albert King, and even The Who featured in this show. I am closing out with an amazing set showcasing the jazz hands of Volker Kriegel. I am sure you will find this a great show with a wide variety of music, so lets get it on!
