Stevie Ray Vaughn Double Trouble
Categories : Rock
Released: October 1, 2002
Stevie Ray Vaughn and his band Double Trouble with drummer Chris Layton and bassist Tommy Shannon blasted a blues revival in the 1980s. His career spanned seven years before his untimely death but Vaughan and Double Trouble consistently sold out concerts and their albums frequently went gold.
Stevie Ray Vaughan’s unique and eclectic style derived from a variety of musical genres. With deep influences by blues musicians including Albert King, Freddie King, Otis Rush, and Muddy Waters, along with rock guitarists such as Jimi Hendrix and Lonnie Mack. His guitar playing reflected a classic blues with pentatonic scales but his creativity and raw talent took it to a whole new level previously unheard by any other guitarist. He was ranked at #6 on Rolling Stone’s list of “100 Greatest Guitarists” in 2011 way after his death.
