Buddy Guy & Junior Wells
Released: April 16, 2013
Buddy Guy & Junior Wells Play The Blues is a CD with some incredible blues on it. It was one of my first selection for Greatest Guitars of the 2oth Century shows. However I picked the song Satisfaction from another CD to show the growth of that particular song and how it influenced the likes of the Rolling Stones.
This album features two of Chicago’s biggest stars playing together. With Buddy Guy on guitar and Junior Wells on harmonica.
George “Buddy” Guy was born July 30, 1936 and is an American blues guitarist and singer. He is said to be one of the top pioneers of the Chicago blues sound and was a definite influence to some of the most famous musicians, including Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan. In the 1960s Guy was a member of Muddy Waters’ band and was a house guitarist at Chess Records of Chicago.
